A bit more about me
I’m Alex—a scientist by training, a writer by inclination, and ph.d holder who has spent a considerable amount of time navigating the space between confidence and doubt. I’ve built my life in science, but I’m equally drawn to conversations that most people avoid: religion, politics, identity, ambition, failure—the so-called “unspeakables” that tend to surface discomfort in mixed company.
Alongside those heavier themes, I am interested in the absurd, the mundane, and the quietly human moments that make up daily life. From grappling with imposter syndrome to the less glamorous realities of caring for a stubborn, overweight orange cat (Busker!), this here is a record of lived experience in its full range, polished and unpolished alike.
The underlying premise is simple: you can function, grow, and even thrive while feeling uncertain. Progress does not require complete confidence; it requires movement.
What This Is
This is a collection of writing at the intersection of science, life, and personal development. It is structured less as a formal publication and more as an evolving set of reflections - short essays, observations, and occasional digressions that attempt to make sense of complexity without oversimplifying it.
The goal is not to prescribe solutions, but to normalize the experience of figuring things out in real time. By engaging with both the comfortable and uncomfortable aspects of modern life—intellectual, emotional, and practical—this space aims to provide clarity, or at minimum, recognition.
At its core, the project is about expanding perceived limits: understanding what you are capable of, often before you fully believe it yourself.
